New York Jets linebacker Dylan Donahue was busted for driving under the influence Monday morning after he was found cruising the wrong way through the Lincoln Tunnel.

According to the New York Post, Donahue crashed into a public transport bus in the middle of the tunnel. When Port Authority police arrived on scene, they found his green Dodge Charger Hellcat completely totaled with several airbags deployed. He blew a .15 blood alcohol content, which is twice the legal limit, police say. His passenger, Suleiman Mahmood, was booked on disorderly conduct.

Although Donahue was able to walk away from the crash pretty much unscathed, four people aboard the New York-based bus suffered minor injuries and were transferred to the hospital for treatment.

Police say Donahue wasn’t unruly during his arrest but he did do a good deal of bragging while they booked him. They say he was trying to tell them that he was an important player on the Jets — probably leaving out that he was drafted in the fifth round and he only played four games in the 2017 season.

While we’re not aware of all the circumstances, or why exactly Donahue was blowing a .15 at 2 AM on a Sunday (it is the offseason, after all) but it’s not a great look to be bragging about your position as a backup linebacker after a horrendous season.

Even if these cops are Jets fans, they’re probably not going to be easily swayed by some know-nothing special teams backup linebacker who only played four games on the 5-11 Jets. In fact, it might have made them dislike him even more. Not to mention this guy walked away uninjured while four other bystanders spent some time in the ER on a Sunday night. Not a great look for this rookie.
