Michael Bennett Will Be Traded To The Philadelphia Eagles

Michael Bennett is off to Philadelphia.

In a somewhat surprising trade today, the Seattle Seahawks worked out a deal with the Eagles to trade Michael Bennett and a seventh round draft pick for Philly’s fifth round pick and wide receiver Marcus Johnson.

The only problem for Philly is that Bennet still has $5.2 million left in his Seattle contract, which will put them about $10 million over their budget. So a few guys lower on the roster will probably have to pack their bags.

Now a lot of people are trashing Philly for making this controversial trade. Bennett lost a lot fans after he falsely claimed that he was targeted and threatened by police in 2017 for “doing nothing more than simply being a black man in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Of course, police later released footage of none of this actually happening and he was blatantly proven wrong. So he’s not exactly high up in the character department.

With that said, Bennett’s a tremendous defensive end, and with the Eagles already airtight defense, he’s a solid addition to the squad. Not to mention, Philly needs a new villain.

Things were getting a little too clean after they won the Super Bowl. Both their QBs and their head coach Doug Pederson are as pure as the wind-driven snow. But the Linc isn’t the only stadium with a jail for no reason. They need to live up to their reputation. Keep the controversy up and the underdogs hungry.
