Martin Shkreli got hit with a seven year prison sentence Friday for defrauding investors, and this could set-up some great prison content.

Unlike most people who hate Shkreli, I’ve actually ran into him a few times and cracked a few beers. He’s an interesting dude. There’s no debate or question about that. It’s also pretty clear from my interactions with him that he loves playing the villain. He absolutely thrives on it.

I’m of the opinion that he’s not even that bad of a guy. People are out here trying to behave like he murdered people. Is he a clown? Almost certainly, but I find him far from being evil. He’s also very intelligent, although socially awkward.

This is why I see so much potential for prison content. Prison is where the strong survive and the weak don’t. That’s simply the truth. I think Shkreli will rise to the occasion, and maybe even end up running the joint by the end.

He’s also all about the show, and you know people are going to want to get a look at the Martin Shkreli prison story. I think we should have cameras around him at all times. It should be around the clock coverage. Give the people what they want and the people want to see Shkreli’s life behind bars. Will he sink or swim? It’s time to find out.
