Dennis Rodman plead guilty Monday to driving under the influence following his arrest in January in Newport Beach, according to TMZ.

The 56-year-old former NBA star avoided jail time once again after pleading to two counts of misdemeanor for the incident where police alleged he was “swerving all over the road” before he was pulled over and taken into custody. Rodman reportedly failed a field sobriety test where he blew a blood-alcohol level of .21, more than two times the legal limit.

He made a deal with prosecutors and will only have to spend 9 months in an alcohol program in exchange for the guilty plea. In addition, if he does find himself in trouble in the next two years, he will have to spend 90 days behind bars.

At the time of the arrest, the retired basketball player was already on probation for another incident and had been ordered to stay out of trouble or face jail time. The probation time stems from a wrong way crash in July 2016 in which he was driving the wrong way on an Orange County freeway in southern California, hit another car and then fled the scene.

Rodman entered a plea deal to keep from going to prison for up to two years and was placed on a three-year probation with the understanding that he must stay out of trouble.

His previous probation was revoked but now has been reinstated.

Immediately following the January arrest, Rodman went into rehab and stated that he’s sober and plans to stay that way.
