Rapper Juelz Santana was arrested Monday morning in New Jersey after he was popped with a loaded gun at Newark International airport last Friday.
Santana brought a loaded gun through security Friday, and then ran out of the airport after it was caught by the medal detector.
TMZ reported the following on the arrest:
Santana was arrested at 1 AM Monday by Port Authority Newark Airport police and booked for unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He was also booked on an unspecified federal warrant.
I’m a huge gun guy, and I think that you can never have enough firearms. However, I’m also a big believer that you shouldn’t be an idiot. Bringing a gun through the TSA lineup by itself is just a mistake or an oversight. Running after you’re caught makes you an idiot. Running leaves no doubt that you believe you’re guilty of something.
I’m against pretty much all gun control, but you should be punished if you run from the police after being caught with a gun. If it was an honest mistake then just own up to it. The situation only gets worse when you run from the police, especially when guns and airports are involved.
Juelz Santana deserves to have the book thrown at him.
