The Minnesota Vikings have apparently found their next quarterback with Kirk Cousins.

The former Washington Redskins signal-caller will reportedly sign a three-year fully guaranteed contract worth more than $85 million, according to ESPN reports.

This contract is an absolute game-changer for the NFL. Fully guaranteed contracts are not something that is ever heard of, unless it’s for a small one-year deal. They’re certainly not a thing when it comes to highly paid quarterbacks over several years.

It’s extremely risky on the part of the Vikings. If Cousins goes down with an injury or turns out to not be as good as expected, the team is going to be on the hook for a ton of money.

But as they say, you only can win big when you bet big. That’s exactly what Minnesota is doing right now. We’ll have to see how it works out for them.
