Floyd Mayweather is taking another step forward towards eventually fighting in the UFC.

“Eventually, we’re gonna apply for the license, and hopefully we can fight,” the legendary boxer told TMZ Sports when discussing the subject of being licensed as an MMA pro.

He also talked about the training he’ll need and added,”Even if it takes 6 to 8 months — whatever it takes. We want to make sure that everything is done correctly, and everything is done the right way.”

Well, would you all look at that? It sure does seem like Mayweather is doing the necessary steps in order to fight in the UFC. As I’ve noted before, Mayweather loves money, and most likely would care about losing a UFC fight if it meant getting a massive payday.

Stop for a second and think about how much money there is to be made if a fight between Mayweather and McGregor actually happens in the UFC. You’d be talking about hundreds of millions of dollars at a minimum. The superstar boxer as even predicted that a few fights could get him a billion dollars.

I still put the odds of a UFC fight for Mayweather happening at well above 50 percent right now. Hopefully this situation doesn’t end with all of us being massively disappointed.
