“SIX” star Kyle Schmid was robbed over the weekend of $30,000 worth of jewelry.

Schmid, who plays Navy SEAL Alex Caulder in the History Channel’s hit show, came home to his Los Angeles apartment to find that $30,000 of his jewelry had been jacked, according to TMZ. He wasn’t home at the time of the invasion, and several other units in his apartment were also reportedly knocked over.

Police haven’t nabbed the bad guys yet, but hopefully they do soon because that’s a lot of jewelry to get stolen.

I also never understand how people keep valuables in a vulnerable enough position that they can robbed during a simple home invasion. If you have $30,000 worth of jewelry, then you have enough money to buy a big enough safe to protect them.

The same logic applies to guns and people who like to carry massive amount of cash at home. There’s nothing wrong with having a dozen custom AR-15s or $100,000 in cash, but you’re probably going to want to purchase a heavy duty safe.

For example, you can easily get a sufficient safe for $5,000, which is pennies compared to what will be protected on the inside.

I hope the people who robbed Schmid are caught quickly, and I hope his story leads people to rethink the security of their homes.
