After going through two divorces, Anna Faris isn’t sure about the prospect of walking down the aisle again.

Faris was a guest on Dax Shepherd’s podcast, “Armchair Expert,” on Monday and discussed a variety of topics, including her recent public and shocking split from Chris Pratt.

Faris revealed she’s grown skeptical of the institution after her previous two marriages ended in divorce.

“I need to figure out what the purpose is,” she said. “Is it safety for your children? Is it convention? Is it so other people respect your relationship more?”

She added that she and Chris were aware that their split caused a pop culture firestorm. “We obviously cultivated something and it was rewarding for a while,” Faris said of their marriage. “It was like ‘People seem to think we got all this s— right.’ I had a little bit of a childish feeling of ‘Oh come on, f——- grow up’ — a little bit of anger. But that’s not fair either because I cultivated it. We intentionally cultivated this idea of like ‘Look at this beautiful family.’ There were so many moments that were like that but like anything on social media, you don’t post [the bad stuff].”

Faris and Pratt were together for eight years before they finally called it quits last August. They have one child together and maintain that the split was mutual.

“Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward,” they said in a joint statement. “We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.”

Faris is rumored to be dating cinematographer Michael Barett but, judging by her recent comments, it’s not likely they’ll be married anytime soon.
