Newly contracted Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Michael Bennett was taken into custody on Monday.
Bennett was facing a charge for allegedly assaulting a 66-year-old paraplegic woman after his brother, Martellus Bennett, won Super Bowl LI with the Patriots. Authorities claim Bennett charged the field after the Patriots’ 2017 win but the wheelchair-bound security guard told Bennet to take a different entrance to gain access to the field. Bennett resisted and somehow injured her in the process.
He was then indicted for a single felony charge of assaulting the elderly, which includes a potential $10,000 fine and up to 10 years in prison.
Bennett was taken into custody in Harris County, Texas Monday. Texas-based reporter Miya Shay captured the exact moments that Bennett was taken away in handcuffs.

USA Today reports that Judge Robert Johnson issued a no-contact order before Bennett’s arrest. He also put a $10,000 bond in place, which Bennett is expected to post shortly. It is unclear whether the Eagles will take disciplinary measure when Bennett is released.
