The first trailer for Ethan Hawke’s new movie “First Reformed” was released Thursday.
The plot of the movie, according to the YouTube description, is, “A former military chaplain is wracked by grief over the death of his son. Mary is a member of his church whose husband, a radical environmentalist, commits suicide, setting the plot in motion.”
I won’t try to sugarcoat this for you guys. This trailer is super dark, as I’m sure most of you were able to figure out from the description of the movie.
This looks like the perfect kind of role for Ethan Hawke. That man was born to play dark roles. It’s his purpose in Hollywood.
Sprinkle in a little plot about a military chaplain with a dead son and a environmentalist terrorist, and I think we mean business. The trailer had some deep stuff. I mean, we’re talking about suicide vests here. The bad guy in this movie clearly isn’t playing games.
