It’s been over a week since Buffalo Bills wide receiver Zay Jones got into a bizarre, bloody fight with his brother Cayleb (a wide receiver for the Vikings).

TMZ obtained footage of Zay stripped down naked fighting with his brother in the penthouse of a building in downtown LA. He reportedly kicked in the window of their 30th floor room and was threatening to jump out of it, which is what caused the brawl.

But today is Zay Jones’ 23rd birthday and he’s finally speaking out since the incident.

The wide receiver tweeted today, “thankful to be alive. thankful for another year. more life.”

The Bills spoke on the incident last week, saying they had no plans to take disciplinary action against Zay. Head coach Sean McDermott told the NFL Coaches Breakfast in Orlando that the incident was “an unfortunate situation” but he wanted to move past it and learn from the past.

Zay’s family hasn’t commented on the situation. They paid $20,000 for the building damages and have remained quiet on anything relating to his mental state. More updates will likely come out of this situation but it’s good to see Zay doing better.
