Notre Dame won the women’s basketball national title Sunday night, and phenom guard Arike Ogunbowale might be the most clutch player in the game.

I must admit that I have next to no interest in women’s basketball, but I can’t get enough of Ogunbowale. She’s never seen a shot she didn’t love. The star guard upset UConn with an unbelievable shot and then two days later murdered Mississippi State.

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this woman’s game. Just fearless and bold at all turns. Do you have any idea how big of balls you need to have in order to pull up for shots like these in the biggest games of your life? Most dudes in the NBA don’t want the ball at the end of the game, and Ogunbowale is out here shredding souls. That type of mentality is one you’re born with. You simply can’t teach it.

She’s actually a bit of a legend back home in Wisconsin. She dropped onto the national stage after lighting up the state tournament a few years back. I had completely forgotten about her until I saw her hit that shot against UConn.

What an incredible moment for her team and family, which includes her NFL and Badger brother, Dare.

Hell of a win for ND and it happened in the most exciting way possible. I’m still not big into women’s basketball, but you’re an idiot if you don’t love what Ogunbowale has done over the past couple days. Her place in basketball history is secured. I hope the whole city of Milwaukee and state of Wisconsin are out here celebrating because we produced the most exciting women’s basketball player in my lifetime.
