In a Monday interview with ESPN, Ben Simmons responded about who he would pick to win the NBA Rookie of the Year this season by saying, “Who would I pick? Me, 100 percent.”

Simmons has been a part of the Philadelphia 76ers “Trust the Process” movement, which ultimately has succeeded with the 76ers earning a spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs this season.

But Simmons is far from the only talent on the 76ers: he joined a team with Joel Embiid, Dario Saric and JJ Reddick. In addition, Simmons isn’t really a true rookie, though this is his inaugural season in the NBA. Simmons was selected by Philadelphia with the first pick in the draft in 2016. Injuries sidelined him for the entire 2016-2017 season, giving him a year of pay while he hung around watching the NBA.

Utah Jazz player Donovan Mitchell responded, tweeting a gif about an hour after the story broke.

Mitchell has averaged more than 20 points a game, while helping lead the Jazz to a playoff spot in the much more competitive Western Conference.

Simmons has averaged more rebounds and assists than Mitchell, but the fact of the matter is that there is a lot more to be considered.
