The University of Texas at Austin is using valuable resources of a public university to teach men the proper way to be masculine.

PJ Media reported the following:

Treating masculinity as if it were a mental health crisis, “MasculinUT” is organized by the school’s counseling staff and most recently organized a poster series encouraging students to develop a “healthy model of masculinity.”

The program is predicated on a critique of so-called “restrictive masculinity.” Men, the program argues, suffer when they are told to “act like a man” or when they are encouraged to fulfill traditional gender roles, such as being “successful” or “the breadwinner.”

Though you might enjoy “taking care of people” or being “active,” MasculinUT warns that many of these attributes are actually dangerous, claiming that “traditional ideas of masculinity place men into rigid (or restrictive) boxes [which]… prevent them from developing their emotional maturity.”

Holy hell, this is this so embarrassing for Texas and our country as a whole. How is taking care of people or being active “dangerous” to men? Last time I checked, our military and police forces were overwhelmingly comprised of men. I’m pretty sure that’s a good thing, and not something that places people into “restrictive boxes.”

I would understand this a bit if it were happening in California or some super liberal area of America, but this is Texas. Aren’t Texans supposed to be tough as nails? The Texans fought to the last man at the Alamo. Was that dangerous for their masculinity? I’m sure we would have been much better on D-Day if we sent a bunch of liberal studies graduates instead of country kids from The South.

There are simply things men need to know how to do, and if that makes being a man bad, then so be it. A man should know how to use a gun, he should know how to protect those who can’t protect themselves, how to look out for your family and others and a variety of other things. I guess the next thing we’re going to be told is that drinking beer during a football game is bad for men too.

Texas can keep their pathetic programs, and I’ll stick to being a man who doesn’t apologize for the way we’re wired to be.
