DC Might Burn To The Ground If The Caps Go Up 3–0 Tonight

David Hookstead | Reporter

The Washington Capitals have game three tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning, and the city might get torched to the ground if they win.

A 3–0 lead in any sport is pretty much impossible to come back from. In hockey, a three-game lead is insurmountable. I don’t remember if I’ve ever seen it done, and the Caps have the chance to put themselves way ahead of the Lightning with a big win. Look, I don’t want to get too ahead of myself — I really don’t, but this is a time to be excited. Let’s just all be honest with ourselves. D.C. sports blow, and the fans have been through an incredibly rough run. That’s just the reality of the situation. Going up 3–0 for fans of the team would be like getting to go out on dates with every Victoria’s Secret Angel on the planet.

I’ll even take it a step further. I bet most Capitals fans would prefer winning the Stanley Cup over getting with a supermodel. That’s what their commitment (and my newly found fandom) to the squad is all about. (RELATED: NHL STAR’S WIFE DISPLAYS INSANE POST-BABY BODY)

I don’t know who will win tonight, but I know that the beer will be flowing as a I cheer on the Caps. We’re 120 minutes of great hockey away from getting to the finals. That starts with 60 great minutes tonight. It’s simply time to get it done.
