Milwaukee Bucks Officially Decide If They’ll Hire The First Female NBA Head Coach

The Milwaukee Bucks hired Mike Budenholzer to be the team’s new head coach late Wednesday on a four-year contract.

There was a lot of speculation that the team would be the first to hire a female head coach and pull the trigger on Becky Hammon. But that clearly didn’t end up being what happened. (RELATED: DEBATE: CAN WOMEN COACH IN MEN’S PRO SPORTS? [VIDEO])

What does this mean for Hammon? I’m not sure, but I don’t think she has anything to worry about. She can go back to being an assistant for the San Antonio Spurs, gain another year of coaching experience with Gregg Popovich and take another shot at a head coaching job next season.

Either way, I am now fully convinced that it’s only a matter of time before we see Hammon as a head coach in the NBA.
