The NFL Coach Favored To Get Fired First Won’t Surprise Anybody

David Hookstead | Reporter

Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson is favored by oddsmakers to be the first coach fired during the upcoming season.

OddsShark recently released the following odds:

  • Hue Jackson +350
  • Adam Gase +750
  • Marvin Lewis +1000
  • Vance Joseph +1000
  • Dirk Koetter +1200
  • Jay Gruden +1200
  • Todd Bowles +1600
  • Bill O’Brien +2000
  • Jason Garrett +2500
  • John Harbaugh +2800
  • Jon Gruden +2800
  • Pete Carroll +2800

Well, go ahead and see yourself out the front door if you thought anybody other than Hue Jackson would be favored to be fired first.

The Browns have been atrocious under him. Now, to be fair, the Browns have been horrible for a long time. Jackson didn’t make them a garbage team, but he didn’t do anything to elevate the program. (SLIDESHOW: These Sexy Women Love Football)

The crazy thing is, the Browns have more talent right now than I can ever remember them having in a long time. They have a solid quarterback in Tyrod Taylor, the receiving group has Jarvis Landry and Josh Brown, and Baker Mayfield is in town. The team appears to be headed in the correct direction.

Would they really fire Jackson right when the team gets some talent? Seems like you have to give him a shot. Of course, it’s Cleveland. Anything is possible, and we all know how quickly things spiral out of control there.
