I’m Hitting Up The Ballpark For The First Time This Summer. Sounds Like It’s Time For Some Beers

David Hookstead | Reporter

I’m heading to my first baseball game of the summer, and it couldn’t be a better day for a sporting event.

The Washington Nationals will face the Baltimore Orioles under the lights. There’s something about the first game of the summer that just feels different. (SLIDESHOW: These Nearly Naked Women Love Baseball)

I went to a Nats game earlier this year, and it wasn’t outstanding. It was very cold. In fact, it was so cold that I had to wear gloves when drinking my beer. Is that a soft move? It might be. I’m not really sure, but it did happen.

You know when you don’t have to wear gloves while drinking a beer? When it’s 85 degrees out on a fine Washington D.C. evening. How beautiful is it that in this country you can be at work one moment dominating the internet, and then hours later be watching baseball on the first day of the summer season. It really makes you think just how special place this country is.

Pssssst … it’s #Scherzday

So, I don’t know if most of you reading this are baseball fans or not. I don’t have a clue, but I do know that you can’t live in this country if you hate drinking beers at the ballpark.

I will carry my weight tonight, and drink enough for everybody who can’t. Does this make me a hero? Does this make me a leader of men? I don’t know, but I do know that this is my burden to carry. Stay tuned. I have a feeling it’s going to be a good night.
