‘Game Of Thrones’ Has Reportedly Wrapped Up Filming. Here’s What Fans Need To Know

The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones is reportedly completely done filming.

Watchers on the Wall reported the following over the weekend:

According to our sources, the last day of filming was yesterday. It’s really over—for good. Before bidding the show a final farewell, let’s catch up with the last week of filming, as well as Maisie Williams‘s heartbreaking (and a bit ominous) goodbye on social media.

So this is it. For those of us who follow filming news, now the true off-season begins. And it will be a long one: there is no season eight premiere date set yet, but we’ll have to wait more than the usual few months; perhaps as much as an entire year or thereabouts.

You can see Maisie William’s goodbye to the show and her tribute on Instagram below. She captioned the photo, “goodbye belfast. goodbye arya. goodbye game of thrones. what a joy i’ve had. here’s to the adventures to come #lastwomanstanding #barely #immasleepforthenextfouryears #justkiddingidontsleep.” (RELATED: ‘GAME OF THRONES’ STAR HAS SOME COMMENTS THAT WILL MAKE FANS VERY HYPED [VIDEO])

It really feels like the end of an era, doesn’t it? “Game of Thrones” has been one of the coolest entertainment accomplishments of my life. It’s been nothing short of incredible, and now it’s done filming. It really feels like we’re entering a new stage of life.

I can’t wait to see what we get in the eighth season. There are so many options and possibilities. Plus, we were truly left with a great Season Seven finale. The White Walkers crashed through the wall, and we all got to see the Jon Snow/Daenerys sex scene we had been waiting years for.

Now, we must all wait until Season Eight actually gets released by HBO. It’s going to be at some point in 2019, and that day can’t get here fast enough.

Who will die? Who will live? Who will rise? Most importantly, who will sit on the Iron Throne when it’s all said and done? These are the questions fans eagerly await answers to.

Here’s a live shot of me dancing my way into 2019 for the new season:
