Conor McGregor Is Nearing A Plea Deal. Here’s How Much Prison Time He’ll Reportedly Serve
Conor McGregor is close to striking a plea deal that would result in him not spending a single day behind bars.
McGregor was arrested back in April on a felony mischief charge after he flipped out prior to UFC 223 at the Barclays Center. You can check out the wild video below. (SLIDESHOW: These Are The Greatest Ronda Rousey Photos On The Internet)
He’s facing seven years in prison, but it sounds like that’s not going to happen. (SLIDESHOW: These UFC Women Really Hate Wearing Clothes)
Sources familiar with the deal tell us, prosecutors have agreed to reduce the felony to a misdemeanor. That’s hugely significant because a felony involving violence could trigger permanent deportation from the U.S.
The Irish bad boy faced 7 years behind bars if convicted, but we’ve learned prosecutors are agreeable to probation … NO jail time.
The deal is not finalized, but we’re told negotiations are down to the “fine points.”
Well, this sure is great news for McGregor and his fans everywhere. As TMZ pointed out in its report, the best part about this for the Irish-born fighter is that he’ll now avoid having to worry about deportation, which would have seriously hurt his career. Now, he can get back to focusing on nothing other than getting back in the octagon. I don’t know who he’ll be fighting in his return, but you can bet the bank that it is going to sell a sickening amount of pay-per-views.
It’s just another day in the saga of Conor McGregor, and it never stops being incredibly entertaining. I can’t wait to see him working people over and cracking skulls again. The UFC world just isn’t the same when he’s not fighting.
