Alabama QB Doesn’t Seem Happy With Nick Saban. Should Fans Be Worried?

Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Hurts didn’t seem happy with Nick Saban and his coaches, judging from comments he made over the weekend.

“No one came up to me the whole spring, coaches included. No one asked me how I felt. No one asked me what was on my mind. No one asked me how I felt about the things that were going on. Nobody asked me what my future held,” Hurts told the media in his first public comments in month, and he looks extremely frustrated in the video.

Honestly, I feel bad for Hurts. He played incredibly well for two years, put up huge numbers and got Alabama to two national championship games. Now, it appears that he’s been left in the dust in favor of Tua Tagovailoa. (RELATED: NICK SABAN REVEALS IF HE EXPECTS HIS SUPERSTAR QUARTERBACK TO REMAIN WITH THE TEAM)

I’m sure that he can’t be overly pleased he went from being a star and now everybody has anointed Tua the next Russell Wilson. It’d be one thing if Hurts just played like trash. He didn’t. He played reasonably well and was named the 2016 SEC offensive player of the year. I’d be so pissed if I got benched after playing well.

At the same time, it’s just the nature of the beast that is college football. Tagovailoa throws a better ball and gives the Crimson Tide simply a better shot at winning. It’s that simple.

I don’t expect Hurts to transfer. He’s one injury away from seeing the field again for the Tide. I wouldn’t be shocked, however, if he bounces at the end of the year. He’d start for 95 percent of other teams in America. Don’t be surprised if he finds a team that will put him on the field.
