POLL: The Number Of People Who Believe Urban Meyer Won’t Be Fired Might Surprise You

The majority of people in a recent Twitter poll I ran don’t believe Ohio State will fire head football coach Urban Meyer.

I asked people, “Do you think Ohio State will fire football coach Urban Meyer?” Slightly more than 50 percent of people answered that they think he’ll be safe after he allegedly knew about (and didn’t report) domestic abuse allegations against fired assistant coach Zach Smith.

A few days ago, 65 percent of people said they thought he should be fired if it’s known he covered up allegations of domestic violence. (RELATED: OHIO STATE PUTS HEAD FOOTBALL COACH ON LEAVE AFTER DOMESTIC ABUSE SCANDAL. HERE’S WHAT WE KNOW)

With every day that goes by with Meyer not fired, I really start to believe less and less that he will be. Football programs don’t like wasting time and dragging things out. They make decisions and move forward. I’m really starting to doubt he’ll be fired.

Plus, Trump’s feud with LeBron James has kind of shifted focus in the sports world. It’s literally the best thing that could have happened for Meyer and OSU, as noted by Clay Travis.

Look at it this way, all that matters in college football is winning. Don’t think for a second OSU or any other major college football program wouldn’t keep a coach of Meyer’s caliber if it meant they’d keep winning, despite getting a little heat.

Let us know what you think in the comments about Meyer’s future with the Buckeyes.
