A 16-year-old girl was tossed off a 60 foot cliff this week in a shocking viral video making the rounds on social media.

Jordan Holgerson, a high school student in Washington state was gathered with a group of friends in Moulton Falls on the Lewis River in Yacolt, Washington on Tuesday. The friends were cliff jumping into the river but Holgerson was too nervous to jump off herself.

“No, I won’t go in,” she can be heard saying in the video, as her friends keep urging her.

She tries resisting them again until one of her “friends” pushes her with both hands over the edge, causing her to plummet 60 feet into the water.

You can watch the roughly 10 second clip below.

Holgerson sustained a litany of injuries and was rushed to the hospital. She cracked 5 ribs, punctured one of her lungs, bruised her esophagus, injured her trachea, and got air bubbles in her chest.

“I could’ve died,” she told local news outlet KGW8. “In midair I think I might’ve blacked out,” said Holgerson. “I was awake and aware when I hit the water.”

“She is lucky she is not paralyzed or dead,” Jordan’s mother, Genelle Holgerson said. “She is alert but in pain and is very tired. We’re lucky she is going to recover and not have permanent injuries.”

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating. The woman who pushed Jordan is reportedly an adult and some of those close to Holgerson — including her mother — believe she should turn herself in.
