Johnny Manziel Has Some Surprising Comments About His Horrendous CFL Debut
Johnny Manziel opened up even more about his CFL debut on his Thursday episode of the “Comeback SZN” podcast.
“It’s humbling to come back after a couple years off and that’s your first game and that’s the result you get … I’m not in this for a quick fix, or a quick turnaround. We’ll put in the work and we’ll get to where we need to be at. I really feel that way,” Manziel stated in audio posted by TMZ Sports. I’m sure some people will disagree with me, but Manziel really does sound like he’s changed a decent amount.
He sounds like a man who understands the gravity of his situation, is willing to admit his faults and his trying to become the best football player he can. That’s sure a lot different than what we’ve seen out of him in the past.
Johnny Football threw four interceptions in his debut in the CFL with the Montreal Alouettes last Friday when they got blown out by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. It’s not ideal, but it happened. All you can do at this point is move forward, and not let it happen again. That’s what being a man is all about.
Plus, we all love a great comeback story. Manziel is certainly at a better place now than he was two years ago. At a minimum, that’s a win.
