Matthew McConaughey’s New Movie Looks Like It Could Be His Best Ever [VIDEO]

I’m getting more and more excited for Matthew McConaughey’s movie “Serenity.”

Here’s the plot of the movie, according to IMDB: “The mysterious past of a fishing boat captain comes back to haunt him when his ex-wife tracks him down with a desperate plea for help, ensnaring his life in a new reality that may not be all that it seems.

Everybody who follows my work knows that I am a huge McConaughey fan. I think he’s a generational talent, and some people might even say we share a similar appearance. I won’t comment on whether or not those claims are accurate. (RELATED: MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY’S NEW MOVIE LOOKS INCREDIBLE [VIDEO])

What I will comment on is that the trailer for “Serenity” is absolutely awesome, and it also features Jason Clarke, Anne Hathaway, Jeremy Strong and Djimon Hounsou.

How dope does this movie look? McConaughey is at his best when he’s playing a tortured dark soul with good intentions. Look no further than “True Detective” for proof of that. This movie honestly looks like it could be the story of Rust Cohle after he was done being a cop.

This movie looks like it’s going to be one of the darkest movies we’ve had in a very long time. This is the formula we have so far: There’s an apparent wife beater, Hathaway appears to be extremely manipulative, and McConaughey somehow gets caught up in all of it.

Here’s my prediction, I think McConaughey is the one getting played here and not Hathaway’s husband. It just doesn’t make enough sense, judging from the trailer. This is all about misdirection.

We’ll all find out when “Serenity” is released October 19.
