Superstar Musician Robbed Of Sickening Amount Of Jewelry
Popular rapper Daddy Yankee had over $2 million worth of jewelry stolen from his hotel room in Spain this week.
The “Despacito” rapper was allegedly robbed by a man pretending to be Daddy Yankee, real name Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, at the Meliá Valencia Hotel on Tuesday.
“He and his entourage reportedly discovered the theft on Tuesday night and called the police. Officers brought in a forensic team to examine the scene,” BBC reported. “Reportedly two rooms were robbed, one with the safe containing the jewels and the other with thousands of dollars in cash. Despite the theft, Daddy Yankee will continue his tour with a performance in Martigues, France on Thursday night.”
Daddy Yankee’s spokespeople confirmed the incident on Thursday.
“The press office @daddy_yankee confirms that the artist has been a victim of robbery while he was outside his hotel in Valencia, Spain. A law firm has already been hired and no further declarations will be given so as not to hinder the investigation in any way,” a tweet translated from Spanish reads.
