POLL: A Shocking Number Of People Claimed They Didn’t Watch A Single NFL Game Sunday

The vast majority of people in a recent poll of mine claimed they didn’t watch a single NFL game during the first Sunday of the season.

I asked voters, “Will you be watching any NFL games today?” Almost 80 percent of the 2,797 voters said they weren’t watching.

These results were absolutely shocking to me. I know that the numbers for the NFL have dipped since Colin Kaepernick’s garbage protest began back in 2016, but I never thought 77 percent of people I asked on Twitter would be entirely skipping the opening weekend of the NFL season. It’s absolutely mind-boggling me.

I hate the protests as much as anybody. I think it’s laughable that millionaire athletes want to claim they’re oppressed. It’s so tone deaf that I often struggle to find the appropriate words to describe the situation. (RELATED: NIKE MAKES MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT COLIN KAEPERNICK. NFL FANS WON’T BE HAPPY)

But I’m still not going to start skipping football games or completely turning off my TV. It’s just not going to happen. My love for the sports trumps my hatred for the idiots who refuse to stand for the anthem. Plus, I’m not going to let them ruin the game that millions of us love.

We’ll have to run this poll again near the end of the season. Something tells me that if Kaepernick slowly fades away, we’ll see the numbers go up. At least, that’s what I’m hoping for because I don’t want to live in a world that doesn’t have a ton of football fans.
