Jon Hamm Says He’s A ‘Huge Comic Book Fan,’ Would Love To Play ‘Batman’
Jon Hamm talked about how he’s a “huge comic book fan” and he’s definitely interested in playing Bruce Wayne a.ka. “Batman.”
“It depends on the script, what the story is,” the 47-year-old actor told Graham Bensinger during his interview on “In Depth,” according to the Hollywood Reporter Wednesday. “I am a huge comic book fan, always have been.”
“I’ve read comic books since I was 9 or younger,” he added. “And I’m pretty knowledgeable about a lot of them. And I like the genre, and I like when they’re done well.”
Hamm continued, “I’d probably fit the suit. I’d have to work out a lot, which I don’t love. But, I am sure there’s an interesting version of that being out there. And if they wanted to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to do it, why not?”
However, he stressed that while he’s heard rumors about his playing the superhero, he’s never had “any conversations” with anyone about talking on the role.
“I have had rumors about that since probably season one of ‘Mad Men,'” the “Baby Driver” star shared. “I have never had a conversation with anybody about it, literally. And I’ve sat in the room with all these guys.”
“I have never been offered anything,” he added. “I think the internet wants what it wants. But, I mean, a lot of people have to sign off on that, obviously not just the internet.”
Ben Affleck is currently the person pegged for the role as the caped crusader for Warner Bros.
