Celtics guard Jabari Bird is really in trouble now.

The 24-year-old star appeared in court on Thursday for an incident that took place on September 7. Prosecutors allege Bird choked out his girlfriend a dozen times until she lost consciousness. (RELATED: IS THIS THE WORLD’S MOST ELECTRIC BASKETBALL FIGHT IN ALL OF HUMAN HISTORY? [VIDEO])

The alleged victim, who remains anonymous, claims Bird harassed her for over four hours earlier this month at her apartment in the Boston suburb of Brighton, Massachusetts. She tried to hide in her bathroom and even below her bed, but when Bird discovered her, he allegedly choked her out 12 times.

Here’s the really hairy part: the victim claims when she tried to run out, he grabbed her by the ankles and dragged her back in, where he continued to torture her. Authorities claim the victim then began to have “seizure like” symptoms and she was somehow able to make it out, but Bird texted her afterward saying he would kill himself if she didn’t come back.

Police were eventually called and Bird was booked on assault and battery, strangulation and kidnapping charges. (RELATED: NBA PLAYER GETS TACKLED AND TASED BY COPS [VIDEO])
