Nick Cannon did not hold back his thoughts after Kanye West warned him about speaking about his wife Kim Kardashian.

Cannon recently mentioned Kardashian — who dated Cannon when they were both in their mid 20s — and said during a VladTV interview, “that white girl got ass!!”

“Nothing but love and respect for you brother. You know I always had that,” the 37-year-old rapper told West in a video shared on TMZ Thursday.

“But honestly got to say this my dude, I have never said anything disrespectful or harmful to you, to your marriage and your union,” he added. “I salute it. Keep it going.”

Cannon continued, “But you are not going to tell me what I can and what I can’t say. I’m a solid individual. If somebody asks me a question I am going to answer it to the best of my ability. I’m going to give my opinion.”

“And you know, there ain’t no harm, no foul,” the actor shared. “But I know it got your spirit feeling weird. But holler at me. You know where I am at. A man’s spirit is free, but pride binds it at times.”

“In all seriousness man, I got nothing but love for you,” he added. “But I’m always going to speak my mind. Just like you always speak yours. And not you, not NBC, not no corporate infrastructure, no one is ever going to control what I can say because I speak truth always.”

The comments came in response to a video the 41-year-old rapper posted earlier in the day telling Cannon and fellow rapper Drake not to speak about his wife or anybody in his family in their interviews or music.

“First of all I want to address Nick Cannon, I understand that you used to date my wife,” West explained. “But you’re giving an interview don’t mention my wife. If someone brings my wife up, you say ‘I respect that man. I’m not speaking on that.'”

“Don’t be making no suggestions like, nobody f**ked my wife,” he added.
