It seems like a great time to remember “Red Dawn” is one of the greatest films ever made.

Every year, I try to watch “Red Dawn” a couple of times. This past Saturday was one of those times. Instantly, I was reminded just how badass this movie is. Do you know why it’s such a legendary film? It’s because the whole thing is dedicated to killing communists. What more could you want?

A ragtag group of high school students take to the Rockies and wage guerilla warfare against the invading forces. It’s so damn cool watching them sneak around as they take out enemy forces. (RELATED: FIERY DEBATE ALERT: IS ‘RED DAWN’ THE BEST ACTION MOVIE OF ALL TIME? [WATCH])

There was a time back in the day when I used to pop cans with a 10/22 pretending to be a resistance fighter, and I know plenty of young men who used to do the same thing.

I’d also like to believe deep down the leaders of the Soviet Union saw this movie, and instantly got terrified. It’s essentially war porn for America with the communists very much on the losing side.

Finally, there are going to be some people out there who want you to believe that it’s bad to love a movie like this. They want you to believe there’s something wrong with cheering in support of shooting communist invaders. Screw those people. They know nothing, and they wouldn’t survive five minutes during an invasion. Hell, some would probably volunteer to fight for the other side.

“Red Dawn” is legendary and I don’t want to be friends with anybody who disagrees.
