It’s Avril Lavigne’s birthday on Thursday.
In honor of the 34-year-old singer’s day, we scoured the internet and found some of her most jaw-dropping looks on the stage and red carpet to date.
Born in Belleville, Canada, the young female rocker burst on to the music scene in 2002 with the debut of her first studio album titled “Let Go.” Two of the singles off the album called “Sk8er Boi” and “I’m With You” reached the top 10. Since that time, she has sold 40 million albums and more than 50 million singles worldwide, putting her just behind Celine Deion and Shania Twain for third best-selling Canadian artist of all time.
During the next few years she put out one hit after another, earning her all kinds of music accolades. Then in early 2015, she shared with fans that she had been diagnosed with Lyme Disease. She worked to regain her strength and fought her way back to start recording music again after an almost five year hiatus.

“I went through a lot to get here,” Lavigne shared in a post on her website. “The positive side is I didn’t stop living my life. Having music while I was healing and in recovery definitely pulled me out of my darkness. I had a goal to work towards and a purpose.”
