NBA legend Magic Johnson is making a solid move for survivors of the Las Vegas massacre back in 2017.

According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Lakers champion is set to be honored in Vegas in the coming days. There will be a concert for the two-day event, and Johnson is reserving tickets for survivors of the horrific shooting. Last October, a gunman killed more than 50 people when he opened fire from the Mandalay Bay on the crowd of the Route 91 country music concert. It was one of the darkest moments in modern American history. (RELATED: JASON ALDEAN RELEASES STATEMENT AFTER SURVIVING LAS VEGAS MASSACRE)

However, it’s in those dark moments we often see the best in people. We’ll never forget the chilling videos and accounts of strangers helping each other as bullets rained down on them. That’s courage words will never be able to describe.

Since then, we’ve also continued to see great deeds for those who suffered the tragic events of that fateful night. Johnson’s tickets might no change the lives of survivors, and it certainly won’t bring back the dead or heal bullet wounds. That’s not the point, though. It might provide the victims with a sense of calm and make them smile for a night. That’s win in my book any day of the week.
