In January, the Major League Baseball (MLB) association announced Cleveland’s decision to remove its Chief Wahoo logo after it had been branded as racist. (RELATED: MLB Urges Indians To Scrap ‘Chief Wahoo’ Logo)

“During our constructive conversations, Paul Dolan made clear that there are fans who have a longstanding attachment to the logo and its place in the history of the team,” an MLB press release reads. “Nonetheless, the club ultimately agreed with my position that the logo is no longer appropriate for on-field use in Major League Baseball, and I appreciate Mr. Dolan’s acknowledgement that removing it from the on-field uniform by the start of the 2019 season is the right course.”

And now that their 2018 season is over, the time has come.

The Indians will now retire the logo from all team uniforms and apparel at the team gear shop, effective immediately.

It’s not immediately clear what the Indians will replace their logo with.
