Jamie Lee Curtis recently responded to criticism that she’s anti-gun.

Fox News published a piece pointing out the fact Curtis’ film “Halloween” features plenty of guns, but that the star actress has called for gun control in the past.

However, she is trying her best to let people know she doesn’t hate guns. In fact, Curtis apparently supports the Second Amendment. (RELATED: The Newest ‘Halloween’ Movie Sounds Like It’s Going To Be Incredible)

She told USA Today the following in part on her views on the right to bear arms:

I am vocal about common-sense gun safety and gun laws. For instance, I fully support an assault weapon ban, I fully support a bump stock ban.

I fully support the Bill of Rights. And fully support the Second Amendment. And have absolutely no problem with people owning firearms if they have been trained, licensed, a background check has been conducted, a pause button has been pushed to give time for that process to take place. And they have to renew their license just like we do with automobiles – which are weapons also.

That’s a bit of a lukewarm endorsement for gun rights, but it’s better than nothing. I don’t think the vast majority of Hollywood stars would say that. (RELATED: The Latest Trailer For The Newest ‘Halloween’ Film Is Absolutely Terrifying [VIDEO])

Don’t get me wrong. I’m sure plenty of people will say her calls for an assault weapons ban, which is incredibly vague and ambiguous, is more than enough to say she’s anti-Second Amendment. Fair enough, but there are much bigger gun control advocates in Hollywood than Jamie Lee Curtis. That’s a fact.

You can see the new “Halloween” film in theaters October 19.
