Lena Dunham’s New HBO Show Is Apparently Flaming Hot Garbage

Lena Dunham’s latest HBO drama, “Camping,” was rolled out with the same vim and vigor some of her other books and series (see: “Girls” and “Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She’s ‘Learned'”) enjoyed in the relative echo chamber that is premiere entertainment.

But something must have happened in between 2017 (when “Girls” ended) and now because critics are widely rejecting her new show. (RELATED: Lena Dunham’s Ex Encouraging Her To Eat Junk Food Is Some A+ Pettiness)

The show has a 24 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes — which is NOT a good thing. Know what other kinds of work get those kinds of ratings? Movies like “Joe Dirt,” and “The Last Sharknado.” For a little comparison, Dunham’s former series, “Girls,” received an 89-percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

It’s not entirely surprising to me that Dunham’s show isn’t doing well. Look at the preview:

Doesn’t look like the most uplifting thing in the world.

Still, Dunham usually enjoys relative adoration from critics. She’s like the King Midas of Hollywood. So, what gives?

Could it be the fact that she haphazardly accuses various high profile men of misogyny, rips apart airlines over fake scandals, falsely accuses other men of rape and may or may not have molested her sister?

Whatever it is, we’re just glad they’ve finally come to their senses.

Although, seeing as a movie about a guy who falls in love with a fish cleaned up at the Oscars earlier this year, they may not have learned their lesson about quality.
