Ladies and gentlemen, I come to you all humbly today to let you know I am still alive after the events of Saturday night.
My beloved Wisconsin Badgers were murdered and it happened on national television. With the eyes of the nation upon us, we were obliterated by the Michigan Wolverines, 38-13.

It was awful. It was like watching a bad horror movie where the blood just doesn’t stop flowing. I couldn’t believe my eyes as I watched Shea Patterson and company stomp out our national title hopes. There wasn’t enough alcohol in all of D.C. to make me forget or to ease the pain. Getting shot might have been a better experience.

Most people would go quietly into the darkness after guaranteeing a win, and then getting blown out. Most men would never have the nerve to show their faces again. Well, I’m not most men. I’m David Hookstead. (RELATED: Wisconsin Is Going To Destroy Michigan. I Guarantee It)
Yes, I thought we were going to annihilate the Wolverines. We’re Wisconsin. We don’t lose to schools like Michigan. They’re the warmup games before we get to the big dogs. They’re a second thought. We barely waste a second on a school of that caliber.
Maybe that’s the problem. We got too cocky. We got too confident.

Now, I sit here on my couch writing this with a hangover for the ages. My hopes of putting on a national title ring this year are in the trash and the future just doesn’t seem as bright as it once did.
This one hurts. It’s not like we lost to Alabama or Ohio State, which are the only two schools in the past eight years to beat us by double digits. Both went on to win the national title. We lost to Michigan. What an embarrassment.
Since 2011 (101 games), just two teams have beaten Wisconsin by more than 10 points – 2014 Ohio State and 2015 Alabama. Both of those teams won national championships. Unless you think Michigan is national championship good, maybe think twice about laying 9.5.

Finally, here’s a message for everybody blowing up my Twitter letting me know the Badgers lost.
Have a great day, and we’ll be back next year. You can bet on that.
