University of Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is now the overwhelming favorite to walk away with the Heisman Trophy at the end of the year.

The current odds from Super Book US are as follows:

  • Tagovailoa 5/9
  • Haskins, Murray 5/2
  • Grier 12/1
  • Milton 20/1
  • McSorley, Taylor 40/1
  • Etienne 50/1
  • Herbert, Snell 60/1
  • Dillon, Lawrence, Love, T. Williams 100/1

For those of you who aren’t big into gambling, being at 5/9 means that he’s well north of 50 percent when it comes to his chances. He is laps ahead of the rest of the field at this point.

It’s not hard to see why Tua is so far out ahead. The man is putting up disgusting numbers for the Crimson Tide. Honestly, there’s not a team in the SEC capable of getting anywhere near them as long as he stays healthy. (RELATED: Latest AP College Football Poll Has Many Shakeups. Number Two Might Surprise You)

As for everybody else, nobody has a hope of catching him at this point unless Alabama starts dropping multiple games. The odds of that happening and the odds of me being married to a Victoria’s Secret Angel by the end of the week — it’s not zero percent, but it’s pretty damn close.

As for my guy Jonathan Taylor, at this point we can only pour one out for him. RIP to his chances.
