Johnny Manziel has every intention of continuing to play football and finish out his deal in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

The Montreal Alouettes quarterback recently told the media the following, according to RDS:

I have another year of contract and I plan to come back for another year. I also want to get involved during the off season, I want to keep in touch with guys who will come back. I’m thinking of doing some training in California or near here, building something ... I’m going back because I’m still under contract. I like it here, I enjoyed my time in Montreal.

This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to anybody. Manziel is making some money north of the border, he’s slowly settled into the game and he’s looked better with time slinging the rock. He has to play in the CFL for at least another season before taking another shot at the NFL. Why would he quit now? He’s made so much progress. (RELATED: Here’s How Many NFL Teams Are Apparently Still Interested In Johnny Manziel)

Will he for sure play in the NFL again? Only time will give us the answer to that question, but I think it’s highly likely if he keeps improving up in Canada.

It’s a bit wild to think that he’s even come this far, given just how badly he failed out of the NFL. Let’s not forget that his own dad didn’t think he’d live to see 24. Now, he’s playing in the very competitive CFL, getting a lot of reps. He has his life back on track. That’s one hell of a turnaround.
