Denver Broncos quarterback Chad Kelly was arrested early Tuesday morning in Colorado.
According to a press release from Englewood Police Department, the former Ole Miss gunslinger was taken into custody after allegedly trespassing in somebody’s residence a little past midnight. He was taken to the local jail and charged with first-degree criminal trespass.

Well, this isn’t good, and that might be the understatement of the year in the world of pro football. Kelly had all the talent in the world coming out of the Ole Miss but failed to become a high draft pick because of serious concerns over him off-the-field. Now, he’s been taken into police custody and charged with a crime a hell of a lot more serious than a speeding ticket.
The obvious question here is what the hell was the young NFL player doing out past midnight this morning? I think it probably should go without saying that’s not a glorious idea.

The reality of the situation for guys in Kelly’s position is that it’s often just easiest if the team cuts them. He has no guaranteed money left on his contract, and the Broncos could get rid of him without any kind of financial obligation.
You allegedly play stupid games and you’ll win stupid prizes. Don’t be shocked if Kelly is looking for a new team in the coming days.
