Louisville’s football team got served a hot plate of karma over the weekend.

The Cardinals and Bobby Petrino pulled a scholarship offer from Matt Colburn shortly before signing day in 2015. How did he get his sweet revenge? The Wake Forest running back rushed for nearly 250 yards and three touchdowns. (RELATED: The Latest AP College Football Poll Is Here. Find Out Where Your Team Ranks)

My friends, that’s what you call getting your ass kicked in the most brutal way possible. Scholarships get pulled when teams feel they’ve found a better option. Usually, it works out for the team pulling the offer. That’s just part of college football. You might not like it, but pulling offers happens regularly.

But you know what doesn’t happen on a regular basis? Getting lit up by a kid three years later after you kicked him to the curb. It’s like a guy who gets dumped by his hot girlfriend and then becomes a millionaire as her life falls apart. The revenge is so sweet that no words are even necessary.

I laughed out loud when I was scrolling through Twitter and saw this tidbit. Literally — was sitting on my couch drinking a beer and lost it when I saw that Colburn dropped a trio of touchdowns on a team that wouldn’t give him the time of day.

Sometimes it’s nice to see the underdog get a big win. Lighting up a team — in this case, Louisville — that thought you weren’t good enough is gold. You just have to love football and stories like this.
