Former NFL player Bucky Brooks might want to put a little more thought into his tweets before pressing the send button.

Brooks tweeted Monday about whether or not people were calling for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen to change positions in order “to take advantage of his athleticism and running skills.” The tweet is a clear backhanded statement in reference to people who have suggested fellow rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson change positions to be a better fit in the NFL.

As Clay Travis pointed out, people aren’t calling for Allen to change positions because he had nowhere near the rushing numbers Jackson or even Tim Tebow did in college.

I wanted to believe Brooks was kidding here, but I really don’t think he is. First off, I don’t even think Jackson should change positions. If Mike Vick could dominate with a similar skill set, then I have no reason to believe the Louisville Heisman winner can’t as well. (RELATED: Here Are The Best Moments Of Week 14 Of The NFL Season)

However, let’s not pretend like Jackson doesn’t have the speed to play wide receiver if he had to. He’s got a big body, he’s fast and he’s lanky as hell. Those are great attributes to have if you want to play receiver. Again, I’m not saying he should. I’m simply pointing out some obvious facts.

As for Allen, yes, he has been a bit of an unexpected surprise this season when it comes to moving the ball with his feet. However, he would get murdered if he tried to take multiple reps at receiver or tight end. Could you imagine him in run blocking? He’d get blown apart.

He’s a young quarterback with all the potential in the world, and there’s a good chance he turns into a solid pro over the next decade. However, he’s not even close to being the same athlete as Jackson. That’s not racist to point out. That’s simply a fact. I don’t have the same athleticism of LeBron. These are the facts.

If you don’t understand the difference, then you probably shouldn’t be watching football.
