There is a growing belief Hue Jackson might be the man to take over the Cincinnati Bengals if head coach Marvin Lewis is fired.

12Up reported the following Monday:

Bengals fans have had a rough year, but hope is on the horizon as Marvin Lewis may finally be out of town after another losing season. The only problem is, the replacement doesn’t exactly have a history of winning.

Cincinnati may get rid of Lewis only to promote Hue Jackson to head coach.

It was laughable when Jackson was signed extremely quickly by the Bengals after he was tossed aside by the Browns this year, but now this is concerning. Jackson could have been hired midseason to get things in order within the organization, as a promotion is easier than hiring him from the outside.

When I saw this over on Barstool Sports, I honestly thought I was about to open up a satire article. Nope. Turns out this is way more real than you’d think.

Did we all just forget about Jackson’s tenure in Cleveland? It was a disaster and the walls were caving in before he was finally kicked to the curb. For a reason we might never understand, the Bengals spent no time before scooping him off of the unemployment line. (RELATED: Here Are The Best Moments Of Week 14 Of The NFL Season)

I’m not really sure Cincy deserves to have a football team if they honestly go out and hire Hue Jackson to be their new head coach. I could go out there and put together a better season, and my only coaching experience came on “NCAA 14” on my PS3. Yet, I have no doubt that I could be better.

This has impending disaster written all over it. It’s going to be ugly as hell if Jackson manages to get his hands on another franchise as the head coach. There will be more losses than I can even count.

Yet, part of me wants it to happen just because it’d be so damn funny. I can’t wait to see how this one shakes out.
