The former NBA pro, 57, admitted to TMZ Tuesday that he has been struggling to stay away from alcohol after checking into rehab January. (RELATED: Dennis Rodman’s New Christmas Sweater Involves Trump And Kim Jong Un)

“In the beginning, it was really, really helpful,” Rodman said of his sobriety program. “But after a while, you get a little bored because of the fact that you’re here so much and it’s more like a routine — it’s just redundant. But every once and a while you have to go back and put yourself back in the situation [and remember] why you came back in the beginning.”

Asked whether he was having any problems with the repetition of the program or staying away from the bottle, Rodman replied, “Everyone has ups and downs and it’s always been a rocky road no matter how you go into it.”

Rodman entered rehab after he was arrested for driving under the influence back in January 2018. But this wasn’t the first time he tried to get help. He went to rehab in 2014 just days after returning from North Korea.

As for this stint, Rodman’s rep tells TMZ, “Dennis is the king of rebounds and he’ll rebound from this too.”
