Paige VanZant must drop a substantial amount of weight to get down to her fighting class of 125 pounds.

VanZant is slated to fight Rachael Ostovich January 19 for ESPN’s first UFC fight. She revealed late Monday night that her weight fluctuates as much as 20 pounds when it comes to getting in and out of fighting shape. (SLIDESHOW: These Are The Greatest Ronda Rousey Photos On The Internet)

She wrote on Instagram:

Let the weight drop begin. I feel like being a professional fighter and having to constantly know my weight has given me some anxiety about what number I see on the scale and some major self confidence issues because I know how small I have been and how I look at those lower weights. I want to spread a message of body positivity and body love. I struggle with confidence way more then I think people would expect. It causes some serious depression in my life. My weight fluctuates 20+ pounds. I know that I need to love myself no matter what part of my fight camp I am in. Cutting season or time off I am beautiful and need to not worry so much about how I look. The scale is just a number and yes it is part of my job but does not get to dictate my happiness. Love the skin you are in!!

I know fighters have to cut weight all the time. That’s just the nature of the business, but it seems like having your weight go up and down 20 pounds is a lot. Hell, I struggle if my weight moves in five pounds in any direction. (SLIDESHOW: These Are The Sexiest Paige VanZant Photos On The Internet)

She’s got to deal with four times that amount. That’s not a joking matter at all. Luckily, I have more than enough confidence that VanZant is going to be able to get it done. (SLIDESHOW: These UFC Women Really Hate Wearing Clothes)

I can’t wait to see VanZant and Ostovich fight each other. It’s officially comeback time for VanZant, and it should be great on all fronts.

If she is able to maul Ostovich, then she’ll back to the top of the women’s side of the UFC in no time at all.

Go, Paige, go!
