The Miss Universe contest didn’t put up impressive TV numbers at all Sunday night on FOX.

According to TVByTheNumbers, a measly 4.19 million people watched Miss Philippines Catriona Gray win the prestigious award. (SLIDESHOW: These Women On Instagram Hate Wearing Clothes)

According to The Hollywood Reporter, that’s down about 300,000 viewers from the 2017 show. The beauty pageant was also beaten by the “Sound of Music” showing on ABC and got fewer than a third of the viewers “60 Minutes” got on CBS. (SLIDESHOW: 142 Times Josephine Skriver Barely Wore Anything)

All the way around, not a great look by any metric.

I’m not an expert, but maybe people weren’t overly interested in the show because they let a transgender woman walk in the show. Again, not an expert, but I’m going to go ahead and guess the average fan is not onboard with that kind of decision.

It really is mind-boggling to me the numbers are so low. Millions more people tuned in for an episode of “SEAL Team” on CBS earlier in the week!

I don’t know what the fix is, but maybe it’s a lot more women in bikinis and stuff of that nature. I can only speak as your casual male viewer, but that would certainly get me more interested.
