Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney had an outstanding quote about football during a recent award show.

“If you don’t think football matters — are you kidding me?” Swinney said as he explained his career projection and his mentor, Woody McCorvey, Wednesday night when he won the Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year award.

Could it get any simpler when it comes to summing up football? Why say anything more? You’re clearly a joke if you don’t understand the importance of the sport.

It takes young boys and molds them into men. It takes weak people and makes them strong. It separates the weak from the strong, and we need a lot more of that in this country. (RELATED: Clemson Beats Alabama For National Title)

Last time I checked, countries that have won Super Bowls are the most undefeated in world wars. Is that a coincidence? I doubt it. We won those wars because we’re tougher than everybody else, and that’s because of football.

Clemson just curb stomped Alabama and Swinney is out here dropping quotes that belong on motivational posters.

The man is a legend when it comes to coaching, and he clearly knows how to captivate a crowd.

Go, Dabo, go!
