Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay knows he must get superstar running back Todd Gurley more involved in the offense in the Super Bowl.

Gurley has been struggling a little with injuries, but did play in the NFC championship win over the New Orleans Saints. However, he only had four carries for 10 yards and a touchdown. It sounds like his lack of touches will change in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots(RELATED: The Patriots Will Face The Rams In The Super Bowl)

McVay told the media the following late Monday, according to ProFootballTalk:

Todd’s healthy, and he’s feeling good. He sure looked pretty healthy on that touchdown run where he ran through guys and demonstrated some explosion and what we know about him. More than anything, I’ve got to get him more opportunities.

McVay is 100 percent correct here that Gurley needs more opportunities. If the Rams want to have a shot at winning, then their star running back has to be a big part of the offense.

It’s that simple. You can’t expect to beat Bill Belichick and the Patriots if arguably your best player isn’t getting touches. It’s just not going to happen. (RELATED: NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Could Intervene On The Outcome Of The Rams Vs. Saints Game)

Plus, there’s really no excuse at all to not have the former Georgia star getting plenty of snaps if he’s healthy.

It sounds like he is. So, McVay needs to make him a full send and just pound him all day long. If he doesn’t, then the Rams truly will have no chance against the Pats.

Make sure to tune in Feb. 3 on CBS to see all the action go down between New England and the Rams.

It should be an outstanding game, especially if Gurley gets a solid bit of work.
