NFL legend Tony Gonzalez had a hot take about the Saints’ loss to the Rams in the NFC title game.
New Orleans lost the game after a blown no-call on a very obvious pass interference, and it’s been pretty much anybody in the NFL has talked about since.

“To lose like this, it’s a tragedy to these people. It’s like somebody died. Literally, you can compare it. It’s a death to them. It’s that serious,” Gonzalez said Tuesday night on the FS1 show “Speak for Yourself.”

Look, I like Gonzalez. He’s clearly a very smart dude, but this is such a dumb take. I hate when people in the sports world start comparing bad things in athletics to such extremes.
If you’re a Saints player that thinks losing in the playoffs is similar to somebody close dying to you, then you need some serious help. (RELATED: Lawsuit Filed To Challenge The End Of The Saints Vs. Rams Game Over Pass Interference No-Call)
It’s that simply in my mind. Does it suck? Yes. Does it hurt? Without a doubt. Is it like somebody almost died? Hell no.

I think it’s more than understandable to be extremely angry and want something to change. I don’t blame anybody for feeling that way, but let’s come back to reality.
As long as your family is alive and everybody is healthy, then everything is going well.
Saints players and fans might not want to hear that sobering message, but it’s the truth. Now, get to work for next season.
